EY is seeking a senior, hands-on Assistant Director for Network Security Operations to lead Zscaler operations and automation within Security Technology Services. This pivotal role ensures the stability, measurability, and continuous improvement of Zscaler services across global production environments. You will provide operational leadership for Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), Client Connector, App Connectors, Private Service Edges, and related zero trust services, crucial for complex enterprise networks.

Your responsibilities will encompass leading reliable operations for ZIA, ZPA, Client Connector, App Connectors, and Private Service Edges, alongside driving Zscaler product automation via APIs and Terraform for administration, policy management, and configuration validation. You will manage major incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and oversee change governance for Zscaler platforms. A key focus will be enhancing service maturity through robust dashboards, metrics, runbooks, and automation-driven improvements. Collaboration with Network Security Technology, Cloud Engineering, Identity, Endpoint, SOC, and Architecture teams is essential for consistent operations and effective governance.

Key duties include owning Zscaler operational delivery, executing the Zscaler product automation roadmap, ensuring platform reliability, managing incident response, and driving continual service improvement. You will ensure services have clear ownership, monitoring, runbooks, and operational readiness standards. Hands-on escalation support for complex production issues across policy, identity, endpoint, DNS, routing, and cloud layers will be required. Furthermore, you will establish product automation controls for versioning, peer review, credential handling, and change validation.

To qualify, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience, complemented by 10-14 years in network security, cloud security, security operations, or security engineering. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on Zscaler experience, with strong operational exposure across ZIA and ZPA, is essential. Proven experience leading incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and change control for business-critical security services is required. You must also have hands-on experience automating Zscaler configuration and operations using OneAPI, Zscaler APIs, or Terraform. A solid understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure networking, VMware, hybrid connectivity, DNS, TLS, and enterprise firewall concepts is necessary. Experience leading engineering or technical operations teams in a global enterprise environment is also a key requirement.
