This role involves developing a comprehensive data architecture roadmap, ensuring data is collected, stored, processed, and utilized effectively to achieve business objectives. You will work with complex SAP business processes and their underlying data structures, bridging the gap between transactional data, master data, and analytical requirements.

This position demands a strategic approach to data extraction and integration, aligning with SAP standards and best practices. You will collaborate closely with SAP functional and technical teams to understand various data access mechanisms and ensure our target data platforms are efficient and well-integrated. A key aspect of this role is defining ownership and responsibilities across different data tools like SAP, BDC, Databricks, and Power BI, and architecting the use of SAP Business Data Cloud for S/4HANA data extraction.

Key responsibilities include designing robust data models (conceptual, logical, physical), data flows, and architectures for data warehousing and data lakes. You will evaluate and implement Azure data services, plan and execute data migrations, and ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance are embedded within the architecture. Optimizing performance, scalability, and reliability of data solutions is crucial. You will also serve as a technical leader, mentoring data teams and establishing architecture standards. Additionally, architectural leadership for data migration and transformation activities, defining migration approaches, and managing data quality risks are integral to this role.

Prepare to provide architectural guidance for data migration and transformation projects. This involves defining migration strategies, sequencing, dependencies, and reconciliation processes. You will support source-to-target mapping and data transformation design, while identifying potential data quality and legacy-data risks. Establishing repeatable and controlled migration patterns with delivery teams is also a core duty.

We are looking for candidates with over 10 years of experience in data architecture and data engineering within Azure cloud environments, coupled with proven experience leading architectural design for data platforms, particularly in cloud/hybrid settings. A track record of successfully delivering large-scale business or technology transformation programs is essential.

Your expertise should include relational databases like SQL Server and big-data technologies such as Spark and Databricks. Deep knowledge of data modeling, data warehouses, and data lakes is required. Proficiency in ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and familiarity with CI/CD, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Azure data services are critical. Experience with cloud architecture, including hybrid cloud, IaaS/PaaS, storage, compute, and network considerations, is necessary. Strong understanding of data governance, security, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, RBAC, RLS, Data Lineage) is also expected. Skills in scripting/programming, specifically SQL and Python, are mandatory. Familiarity with Azure security and identity management is a plus.
