Job description

Join a team dedicated to pioneering risk-based strategies and robust solutions for effective employment-related risk management. We go beyond standard compliance, setting industry benchmarks for mitigating HR and workforce data risks.

Leveraging a unique "Google lens," we ensure our methodologies, processes, and policies are not only fully compliant but also optimally aligned with our operational needs and organizational culture. Our global initiatives span workforce data security and privacy, labor and employment compliance, and the development of regulatory-driven workplace policies and training.

As a Workforce Data Privacy Manager, you will champion the advancement of Google’s workforce data compliance and privacy programs. You will be instrumental in embedding "Privacy by Design" principles into People Operations’ digital transformation, particularly with AI solution integrations, ensuring responsibility, ethics, and global compliance.

You will act as a vital liaison between People Operations, HR Engineering, and Google’s broader privacy and compliance ecosystem, including Legal and Privacy teams. Your core mission is to translate the complexities of evolving regulations into scalable, risk-mitigating strategies that safeguard our global applicants, candidates, and employees. By identifying vulnerabilities and providing expert governance, you will directly enable the successful launch of next-generation, AI-driven user journeys.

Responsibilities

Design and implement comprehensive workforce privacy strategies, integrating "Privacy by Design" into people operations roadmaps and AI-powered user journeys.

Analyze and adapt to evolving global regulations, such as GDPR and the EU AI Act, updating internal policies and HR frameworks for seamless compliance and risk mitigation across diverse operational landscapes.

Lead and manage complex, high-impact global privacy initiatives. This includes tracking timelines, proactively mitigating cross-functional risks, and utilizing key performance indicators to monitor program health, foster accountability, and ensure strategic goal attainment.

Serve as the primary point of contact for high-priority privacy escalations and regulatory inquiries. Conduct thorough, cross-functional investigations to resolve intricate issues with speed and transparency.

Facilitate collaboration across Legal, Compliance, and HR Engineering to unify data management strategies. Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to keep leadership informed of critical risks and recommended mitigation paths.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in privacy, compliance, risk management, or legal fields.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Data Privacy, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
