Our initiatives span global workforce data security and privacy, labor and employment compliance, and the creation of regulatory-driven workplace policies and training programs.

As the Workforce Data Privacy Manager, you will drive the advancement of Google’s workforce data compliance and privacy programs. You'll be instrumental in embedding "Privacy by Design" principles, ensuring People Operations’ digital transformation, particularly the integration of AI solutions, is conducted responsibly, ethically, and in compliance with global regulations. You will act as a vital link between People Operations, HR Engineering, and Google's wider privacy and compliance ecosystem, including Legal and Privacy teams. Your core mission involves translating the complexities of a dynamic regulatory environment into scalable, risk-based strategies that safeguard our applicants, candidates, and employees worldwide. By identifying potential vulnerabilities and providing expert governance, you will directly facilitate the deployment of next-generation, AI-driven user journeys.

- Develop and implement comprehensive workforce privacy strategies, integrating "Privacy by Design" into people operations roadmaps and AI-enabled user journeys. - Analyze emerging global regulations, such as GDPR and the EU AI Act, and update internal policies and HR frameworks to ensure ongoing compliance and mitigate risks across diverse operational settings. - Oversee complex, high-impact privacy initiatives across global markets, managing timelines, mitigating cross-functional risks, and using key performance indicators to monitor program health, foster accountability, and achieve strategic goals. - Act as the primary point of contact for high-priority privacy escalations and regulatory inquiries, conducting thorough cross-functional investigations to resolve complex issues with speed and transparency. - Foster collaboration between Legal, Compliance, and HR Engineering to unify data management strategies, developing comprehensive communication plans to keep leadership informed of critical risks and proposed mitigation strategies.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a minimum of 10 years in privacy, compliance, risk management, or a legal capacity. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Data Privacy, or a related field, along with professional privacy certifications like CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or CISA. Experience with workforce/HR data or global employee populations is highly beneficial, as is experience providing privacy guidance for AI/Machine Learning products. The ability to translate intricate legal requirements into clear technical specifications and scalable operational workflows is essential.
