As a Wireless Network Development Engineer on the Core Engineering team, you will partner with infrastructure teams on configuration standards and tools. You will also collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers to facilitate the smooth rollout of new designs and products, as well as deploy and maintain essential networking software tools.
Drive the design and implementation of innovative, multi-vendor data connectivity solutions to support global Amazon growth. You will be responsible for scaling current network designs to meet evolving customer demands.
Collaborate closely with vendors and cross-functional teams on ongoing design efforts and systems support. Engage with internal customers to resolve issues and ensure network demands are continuously met. Lead operational excellence projects focused on improving network quality and reliability.
Develop and automate network device deployments using infrastructure as code (e.g., CDK, Python) across various network fabrics. Create and review comprehensive documentation for network implementations, standard operating procedures, and knowledge transfer materials. Lead design, network, code, and security reviews to proactively identify risks and prevent production issues.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of experience in RF Survey, RF Planning, and Optimization.
Proficiency in major internet routing and switching protocols is essential. Experience with enterprise wireless architecture, including WPA3, RADIUS, 802.1X, and EAP, is also necessary.
Preferred qualifications include at least two years of experience in a Linux/Unix environment and two years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl. Experience with broader networks, IT infrastructure, or system integration is highly beneficial.
