We are seeking a Senior Wintel Platform System Engineer with a focus on SCCM and Ansible to join our dynamic team.
This role is pivotal in modernizing our Windows platform estate through advanced automation and lifecycle management. You will be instrumental in transitioning from traditional Wintel operations to a cutting-edge, engineering-led model. Your expertise will ensure our services consistently meet stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs), security standards, and availability targets, driving efficiency and innovation.
Design, implement, and manage SCCM solutions for efficient OS deployment, patching, and software distribution. Develop and maintain Ansible automation frameworks for Windows configuration and orchestration, seamlessly integrating with SCCM. Create and manage automated Windows server build pipelines, including gold images and baseline configurations. Deliver Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for robust provisioning and configuration management. Automate the enforcement of patching, remediation, and compliance across the Wintel environment. Integrate SCCM and Ansible with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows to streamline operations. Develop self-service capabilities for accelerated application and infrastructure delivery. Resolve complex Windows platform issues by implementing automation-driven preventive measures. Lead platform modernization efforts, significantly reducing manual tasks and operational overhead. Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost management initiatives. Collaborate effectively with infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver scalable platform services. Work with vendors and stakeholders to implement industry-leading practices.
A strong background in Wintel platform engineering, specifically with SCCM-based solutions at scale. Proven experience in implementing and optimizing SCCM (Endpoint Configuration Manager) environments. Hands-on expertise in using Ansible for Windows automation, including WinRM, PowerShell modules, and orchestration. Experience in building automated OS deployment and patching frameworks. A track record of transforming traditional Windows administration into automation-led operational models. Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams and serve as a technical authority in Wintel engineering. Skills in defining and implementing automation standards, frameworks, and best practices. Excellent problem-solving abilities with experience in resolving complex enterprise platform issues. Proven ability to drive efficiency, compliance, and cost optimization through automation. Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP, PKI, and Certificate Services. Expertise in PowerShell scripting and automation. Advanced skills in Ansible, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), and Git/version control (GitOps). Familiarity with golden image management, build automation, monitoring and logging (Splunk), vulnerability tools (Qualys), and patch orchestration frameworks. Awareness of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), storage, backup, networking, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS). Solid understanding of ITIL Service Management principles and intermediate experience with Agile delivery methodologies and Atlassian tools.
