Join the eero team as a Software Development Engineer, a role for passionate networking enthusiasts. This position is key to resolving challenging field escalations and requires a deep understanding of networking concepts, including Ethernet, network security, and WiFi.

You will dedicate approximately half your time to addressing customer issues and the other half to developing new features, integrating software, and enhancing development tools. Enhance home WiFi connectivity for eero products by solving complex connectivity issues with robust solutions. Optimize networking subsystems within OS kernels to boost WiFi performance. Implement advanced protocols for efficient mesh network management. Debug and fine-tune kernel-level system performance for enhanced stability. Improve the integration of wireless drivers, firmware, hostap, and applications. Lead the development of improved testing procedures. Collaborate with OS, mobile, and cloud teams to deliver cutting-edge features.

A solid foundation in computer science fundamentals is essential, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis, with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Demonstrate at least 3 years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. Proficiency in at least one programming language is required. Proven experience in WiFi software development, with a strong focus on 802.11 protocols. Familiarity with 802.11, 802.3, DHCP, IPv4, IPv6, Linux bridge, and network stack internals is necessary. A Master's degree or equivalent is preferred, along with experience in modern languages like Go, Rust, or C++. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a dynamic team and with vendors.
