As an L4 Web Solutions Engineer on the YouTube BizTech team, you will be an entrepreneurial full-stack engineer shaping the future of YouTube’s business systems. Working with minimal guidance, you will deliver flawless, scalable solutions. This role is perfect for someone passionate about integrating next-generation AI, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), into daily operations. You will modernize legacy enterprise middleware, drive data consolidation, and bridge the gap between intuitive front-end user experiences and complex back-end data pipelines.

Leverage your understanding of web architecture and system design to manage ambiguous technical challenges and edge cases. Collaborate closely with technical stakeholders in product, UX, data, and operations. Design, build, and deploy highly scalable AI applications using the Google Cloud AI stack (Vertex AI, Cloud Functions, Agent Development Kits) to address complex business operations and partner management challenges. Develop autonomous, multi-agent systems and robust RAG architectures that securely integrate internal knowledge bases and enterprise data silos with large language models. Demonstrate proficiency in vector embeddings, context windows, and semantic search. Integrate AI backend services (via APIs and Cloud Functions) with intuitive frontend web applications (using TypeScript/Angular/Lit) to deliver insights and automated workflows to end-users. Create project plans and deliver AI-focused projects on time, within budget, and within scope with minimal supervision. Identify opportunities where generative AI can reduce operational friction or technical debt. Author and review intricate technical design documents centered on AI system architecture.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience is required. You should have 4 years of experience in software development and system design, utilizing Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, and SQL. Demonstrated experience with frontend languages such as JavaScript or TypeScript is essential. Proficiency in backend languages like Java, Python, or C++ is expected. Experience working with various database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL, is necessary.
