As a vital part of EY's core Tax practice, you'll cultivate deep tax expertise alongside advanced database and programming skills to build and maintain innovative solutions for our client-serving Tax professionals.

This Senior Developer role sits within the Solution Delivery pillar, primarily responsible for developing and testing solutions designed to support the GDS Tax Practice. Joining the TTT team in Tax SL presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a pioneering firm and significantly influence the growth of a new service offering.

As a Senior VBA Developer, you will be instrumental in the technical design and development of solutions, adhering to established best practices. You'll estimate technical efforts, define work breakdown structures, identify risks, and propose solutions at a solution level. Monitoring adherence to methodologies, tools, and KPIs will be crucial, alongside effective stakeholder management.

Maintain clear and consistent communication within the team, with peers, and stakeholders across various teams. Contribute to refining application development and engineering methodologies, standards, and leading practices. Proactively identify potential issues, define problems, analyze causes, and collaborate with the team to implement the most effective solutions. Clearly articulate both challenges and proposed resolutions, taking a proactive stance in identifying issues, presenting solutions, and options, and driving them to resolution.

We are seeking candidates with robust experience in MS Excel, Access, and Word, coupled with strong VB Scripting abilities. Exceptional attention to detail, advanced MS Excel skills, and expert-level hands-on experience with Excel/Access VBA Macros and other automation techniques are essential. Proficiency in Python and Power Query is also required.

Develop custom tools and applications using Excel, and demonstrate exposure to process assessment and solution delivery through VBA Macros. Strong communication skills are vital. Detail-oriented knowledge of coding and testing required automation modules is expected. You will be responsible for developing data analyses and reports/dashboards according to requirements. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to independently handle complex customer problems are key. Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies. Familiarity with financial concepts and markets is a beneficial addition.

To be considered, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is necessary. A Master's degree is preferred. Candidates should possess 4-8 years of relevant experience. Management experience is a plus. Ideally, you will also possess thorough knowledge of the Tax or Finance Domain, strong analytical skills, and meticulous attention to detail. The ability to adapt your work style to collaborate effectively with both internal and client team members is important.
