EY's GDS Tax Technology works hand-in-hand with various client-facing areas, including Federal Business Tax Services, Partnership Compliance, Corporate Compliance, Indirect Tax Services, Human Capital, and Internal Tax Services. We provide comprehensive support for solution architecture, application development, testing, and maintenance to the global TAX service line.

Develop, maintain, and optimize all data layer components for new and existing systems. This includes databases, stored procedures, ETL packages, and SQL queries.

Write complex queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, cursors, and user-defined functions using SQL Server or Azure SQL.

Apply strong knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts.

Work with Azure Data Factory or similar ETL tools.

Leverage experience with Azure data platform offerings.

Collaborate with application developers across core systems to manage changes and their impact on SQL databases.

Define data solutions for business challenges in direct partnership with project managers, senior staff, and clients.

Communicate effectively with other senior IT leaders regarding program strategies and plans, negotiating for optimal quality solutions.

A Senior Data Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in SQL databases, including database construction, design, and data modeling. Proficiency with SQL Server, SSIS, and any ETL tools is essential.

Strong command of database programming and backend development using SQL Server/Azure SQL, including the ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, cursors, and UDFs. A solid understanding of data modeling and data warehousing principles is required.

Experience with Azure Data Factory or alternative ETL solutions is necessary, alongside familiarity with Azure data platform services.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate program strategies and plans to senior IT leadership and negotiate for high-quality solutions.
