As a Senior Scala Developer, you will leverage your expertise to build and optimize robust applications supporting critical tax functions.

- Develop and maintain high-quality software applications using Scala, adhering to best practices for clean, efficient, and reusable code. - Integrate third-party libraries and APIs seamlessly within Scala applications. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, fostering skill enhancement and timely deliverable completion. - Conduct thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback on coding standards, performance optimization, and security. - Implement test-driven development and automated testing strategies for Scala applications. - Analyze and present multiple solutions to complex problems, detailing the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. - Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the codebase to effectively contribute to design, development, and debugging sessions. - Periodically engage in code optimization initiatives to ensure optimal performance and quality. - Actively participate in design and architecture discussions, requirements gathering, and team meetings, asking clarifying questions and summarizing key points. - Submit daily and weekly status reports detailing completed work and progress. - Contribute to scrum calls and technical discussions, sharing insights and collaborating with the team. - Train and mentor team members on new technologies and development concepts. - Assist in providing effort estimates and creating work breakdown structures for assigned development tasks. - Stay current with the latest advancements in Scala and its associated frameworks. - Demonstrate self-organization and effectively plan daily tasks based on communicated priorities.

- Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on development experience with Scala and Spark. - Proven experience with RDDs, writing code for actions and transformations, and in-memory processing using Scala. - Proficient in developing with DataFrames and DataSets, and preparing Scala notebooks for Spark jobs. - Experience in optimizing existing code for enhanced performance and efficiency. - Exposure to database concepts, including read/write queries and handling large data volumes. Basic understanding of NoSQL databases like Cassandra and Astra is required. - Solid understanding of distributed computing concepts and related technologies, particularly Databricks. - Hands-on experience with development tools such as IntelliJ. - Experience working on high data volume projects, handling up to a million records per transaction. - Basic debugging skills and foundational knowledge of Information Security. - Ability to perform developer testing for self-written or modified components. - Capability to conduct performance and load testing from a development perspective. - Skill in preparing development documentation, including design notes, test cases, work breakdown structures (WBS), and effort estimations. - Knowledge and exposure to GitHub, Azure DevOps, code maintenance, and CI/CD release processes. - Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies. - A degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
