Join Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP as a Senior Consultant and Commissioning Manager within the Operation, Industry, and Domain Solutions team. This position requires extensive experience in commissioning within thermal power plants, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills. The base location is Bhubaneshwar, with frequent travel to client sites in Angul.

We are seeking individuals who can drive project success, ensure smooth transitions from construction to operation, and maintain high standards of safety and quality.

Oversee system readiness for commissioning, ensuring completion of erection, documentation, manpower, tools, and safety clearances. Develop comprehensive commissioning plans and schedules for plant systems, including boilers, turbines, and generators. Coordinate effectively with engineering, construction, and OEM teams for seamless project phases. Monitor pre-commissioning and commissioning activities such as flushing, testing, and trial runs. Ensure the availability of necessary consumables, utilities, and spares for startup operations. Track contractor and vendor performance against commissioning milestones.

Lead the resolution of technical issues during commissioning and initial operations. Uphold compliance with safety standards, statutory requirements, and quality procedures throughout the process. Prepare and manage system-wise commissioning checklists, documentation, SOPs, and test reports. Coordinate synchronization, load testing, and performance guarantee tests. Develop look-ahead plans and progress reports, while assisting with budget monitoring and cost control measures. Facilitate smooth handover of commissioned systems to the operations team and ensure adequate training. Drive strategies to optimize commissioning timelines for early project completion.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in commissioning within thermal power plants is essential. Candidates must hold a B.E. or B.Tech degree from a reputable engineering college. A postgraduate degree is considered an advantage. Strong presentation abilities and excellent command of the English language are required. The role is suitable for early or immediate joiners. This position involves a hybrid work mode, with a base location in Bhubaneshwar and significant travel to client sites in Angul. Previous experience in Delhi is also noted for this role.
