As an Engineering Manager, you will be instrumental in transforming legacy mainframe systems into modern, scalable, and secure cloud-native architectures. You'll apply your deep expertise in mainframe technologies and modernization strategies to craft practical solutions that align with both business and technological objectives. Collaboration with stakeholders, development teams, and cloud architects is key to driving modernization initiatives, enhancing system efficiency, and supporting cloud adoption.

This position demands strong technical leadership, hands-on mainframe experience, and the capability to steer complex modernization and transformation programs to success.

Drive the assessment of legacy mainframe applications to define clear modernization strategies and actionable migration roadmaps. Lead comprehensive modernization initiatives encompassing COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, VSAM, MQ, CFT, and Scheduler platforms. Execute rehost, re-platform, and automated COBOL-to-Java conversion programs with precision. Provide essential support for AWS cloud migration and the design of target-state architectures. Develop robust integration solutions leveraging APIs, MQ, Kafka, and Microservices. Utilize modernization and code conversion tools to expedite transformation efforts. Oversee migration, testing, cutover, and stabilization activities meticulously. Collaborate effectively with business, architecture, and delivery teams to ensure seamless program execution. Champion DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud engineering best practices throughout the project lifecycle. Offer technical leadership and manage stakeholder relationships across the entire modernization journey.

A minimum of 12 years of experience in Mainframe technologies and a proven track record in modernization programs is essential. Experience in end-to-end modernization engagements is highly preferred. Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms is beneficial. Proficiency in key Mainframe Technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, and VSAM is required. Familiarity with Middleware & Transfer technologies like MQ, CFT, and Scheduler is necessary. Demonstrated ability in Mainframe Modernization Assessment and Strategy is a must. Experience in Legacy Application Transformation is expected. Skilled in Rehost, Replatform, and Automated COBOL-to-Java Conversion processes. Basic to Intermediate understanding of AWS Cloud Migration and Modernization is needed. Familiarity with Modernization and Code Conversion Tools is advantageous. (Good to Have) Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices. Expertise in APIs, MQ, Kafka, and Integration Architecture. Strong capabilities in Solution Architecture and Target-State Design. Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). (Good to Have) Familiarity with Containers and Kubernetes. Proficiency in Application Performance Optimization and Testing. Proven experience in Migration Delivery and Transformation Leadership. Excellent Stakeholder Management and Client Advisory skills are required. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is mandatory.
