Join Deloitte's Technology & Transformation practice as a Mainframe Modernization Architect, playing a key role in reshaping legacy systems. This position focuses on leveraging Micro Focus Enterprise Suite (now Rocket Software) technologies to lead significant mainframe transformation initiatives. You will guide clients through complex modernization journeys, from initial assessment to successful migration.

Lead comprehensive mainframe modernization programs, utilizing Micro Focus solutions. Assess application portfolios, analyze modernization feasibility, and develop strategic roadmaps. Execute rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, and application transformation initiatives. Migrate COBOL, PL/I, JCL, CICS, IMS, DB2, and VSAM-based applications. Configure and implement Micro Focus Enterprise Server and Developer. Support workload migration to Linux, Windows, Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments. Develop detailed migration plans, cutover strategies, and testing approaches. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional architecture, infrastructure, and DevOps teams. Drive code remediation, performance tuning, and lead proof-of-concepts. Prepare essential technical documentation and provide mentorship to development teams.

A minimum of 8 years of IT experience is required, with substantial hands-on involvement in mainframe modernization projects. Proven expertise in implementing Micro Focus/Rocket Software modernization solutions is essential. A strong grasp of enterprise architecture and various application migration patterns is expected. Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and robust client-facing and stakeholder management skills are also necessary.

Preferred qualifications include experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS Mainframe Modernization programs, migrating large-scale applications in banking, insurance, telecom, or retail sectors, and knowledge of cloud-native architectures and microservices. Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, Azure, AWS, or Micro Focus are advantageous, as is experience with API-led integration and modernization frameworks.
