Join Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP's Cyber team as a Consultant in Chennai, focusing on Data Privacy. This role involves helping organizations strengthen their cybersecurity posture and manage cyber risks effectively. You will work with clients to develop robust data protection strategies and ensure compliance with evolving privacy regulations.

As part of our esteemed Cybersecurity practice, you'll contribute to safeguarding valuable assets and enabling new opportunities through secure, vigilant, and resilient operations. Embed cyber risk management early in strategic development for better control over information and technology risks.

As a Consultant in our Cyber Team, you will cultivate strong working relationships with colleagues and clients to exceed expectations. Your responsibilities will include developing data protection policies aligned with privacy laws, conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential data privacy issues, and monitoring data processing activities for compliance.

You will also provide expert guidance to clients on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), risk assessments, data governance, and privacy impact assessments. Furthermore, you'll design and implement security and privacy frameworks, along with re-engineering processes and privacy controls to ensure comprehensive framework development.

We seek a Consultant with a minimum of 2 years of experience in data protection or privacy compliance. While not mandatory, certifications such as CIPT, CIPM, or CIPPE are preferred. A Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, or a related field is required, complemented by strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, especially the Personal Data Protection Bill in India, is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for working both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Controlling concepts like Cost Centre Accounting and Profit Center Accounting is also beneficial.
