Join a dynamic team as an Android Mobile Engineer focused on creating innovative mobile applications to enhance digital healthcare experiences. This role involves developing scalable, secure, and high-performing Android apps, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer-centric solutions.
As an individual contributor, you will build native Android applications using modern frameworks and best practices. Your responsibilities will span the entire software development lifecycle, from solution design and development to testing, deployment, and production support. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in Java/Kotlin, API integration, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern mobile architectural patterns like MVVM.
Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Java and Kotlin, ensuring responsive, scalable, and secure solutions. Implement modern architectural patterns such as MVVM, develop reusable components, and translate business requirements into high-quality code. Integrate RESTful APIs and backend services, along with third-party SDKs (Firebase, Analytics, Maps, Push Notifications). Manage application caching, error handling, networking, and offline functionality.
Develop and execute unit and UI automation tests using Espresso, supporting Component Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing. Troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and maintain code quality through peer reviews. Participate in CI/CD processes using Jenkins, SonarQube, and Gradle, managing build configurations and release processes. Provide incident support, monitor application performance, and ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy and security standards.
A minimum of 2 years of software development experience, with a strong focus on native Android applications using Java and Kotlin. Proven experience integrating APIs and backend services, and working with Android dependency management tools like Gradle and Maven. Proficiency in integrating third-party SDKs and libraries is essential. Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar CMS platforms is required, along with experience in automated UI testing using Espresso.
Key technical skills include strong command of Android SDK, Java, and Kotlin, a solid understanding of the Android app lifecycle and mobile architecture, and experience with MVVM architecture and Android Jetpack components. Expertise in Retrofit, REST API integration, networking, caching, and error handling is crucial. Familiarity with Git-based source control and mobile application security best practices is expected. Additional strengths include proficiency in UI test automation, managing Android build configurations, and integrating third-party SDKs like Firebase, Analytics, and Mapping solutions.
