Seeking a seasoned Senior SQL Database Administrator to oversee and support Microsoft SQL Server environments. This role encompasses Production, QA, Development, and Disaster Recovery systems, demanding a strong command of SQL Server Administration, High Availability, Performance Tuning, Patching, Upgrades, and Cloud-based SQL platforms.

The position addresses a backfill requirement within the SQL Team due to resource attrition.

Key responsibilities include administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 environments. This involves performing database installations, configurations, patching, upgrades, and migrations.

Monitoring database health, performance, and availability is crucial. You will troubleshoot database-related incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and execute backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.

Further duties entail query optimization, indexing, performance tuning, and managing database security, user access, and compliance. Automation of routine DBA tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell scripting is expected. Coordination with Application, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Support teams, along with participation in on-call support and critical incident management, are also integral.

Management of SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups and basic Clustering knowledge, is required. Familiarity with Azure environments is also necessary.

A strong background in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration is essential. Expertise in Backup & Recovery, Performance Tuning, and Troubleshooting is a must. Experience with SQL Server Patching, Upgrades, and Migration projects is required.

Proficiency in T-SQL scripting and Azure SQL is necessary. Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and SQL monitoring tools is beneficial. Exposure to ITSM tools such as ServiceNow is advantageous.

Preferred qualifications include basic knowledge of PowerShell automation and familiarity with database security and compliance standards. Experience managing enterprise-scale SQL Server environments is a plus. SQL Server certifications would be an added advantage.
