Seeking a seasoned Senior SQL Database Administrator to oversee and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments across Production, QA, Development, and Disaster Recovery setups. This role demands in-depth expertise in SQL Server Administration, High Availability solutions, Performance Tuning, Patching, Upgrades, and cloud-based SQL platforms. You will be instrumental in ensuring the stability and efficiency of our critical database infrastructure.

This is a backfill position within the SQL Team, arising from resource attrition, and is crucial for maintaining our operational continuity and service levels. Join us to contribute to a dynamic and evolving cloud and infrastructure management team.

Key duties include administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016/2019/2022), performing database installations, configurations, patching, upgrades, and migrations. You will monitor database health, performance, and availability, alongside troubleshooting incidents and conducting root cause analysis.

Responsibilities also encompass executing backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures. A significant part of the role involves query optimization, indexing, performance tuning, and managing database security, user access, and compliance.

Automating routine DBA tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell scripting is expected. You'll collaborate closely with Application, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Support teams, participating in on-call rotations and critical incident management. Experience with SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups and Clustering basics, is essential, along with foundational knowledge of Azure environments.

Essential qualifications include strong, hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration. You must possess expertise in Backup & Recovery, Performance Tuning, and Troubleshooting.

Demonstrated experience with SQL Server Patching, Upgrades, and Migration projects is required. Good knowledge of T-SQL scripting and Azure SQL is also a must. Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and SQL monitoring tools is expected, along with exposure to ITSM tools like ServiceNow.

Preferred skills include basic knowledge of PowerShell automation, understanding of database security and compliance standards, and experience managing enterprise-scale SQL Server environments. SQL Server certifications are considered a significant advantage. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and excellent problem-solving abilities are vital for this role. The ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks is highly valued.
