Join Amazon's World Wide Returns & Recommerce team, a group that redefines e-commerce by managing the entire product lifecycle, from pre-purchase information to post-purchase support and resale. We are at the forefront of innovation, supporting net-zero carbon initiatives and the Amazon Climate Pledge. Our work impacts customers directly by providing seamless return experiences and developing products that support all post-purchase needs, including troubleshooting, transportation, reverse fulfillment, and reselling.
We are pivotal in shaping Amazon's e-commerce foundation, with our returns policies significantly boosting customer confidence and trust. Our team has pioneered effortless returns, eliminating the need for printing labels or packaging and enabling quick refunds. Despite the inherent complexities of returns, we consistently achieve industry-leading low return rates and exceptional customer experiences.
Our team is expanding rapidly, with plans to hire over 50 employees in the coming year across various tech roles. This expansion is driven by our mission to define returns and recovery options as a service for merchants, FBA, bulk, and Amazon business customers. We are tackling significant technical challenges in optimizing the reverse supply chain. Your role will involve evolving our returns and re-commerce systems into a modular, customizable, multi-tenant platform to support e-commerce growth. You'll leverage AWS services, Java, object-oriented design patterns, and cutting-edge storage, workflow, orchestration, and UI technologies to build robust software systems.
Develop and manage complex e-commerce returns and re-commerce systems, acting as a key contributor to their evolution. Ensure the modularity and customizability of our multi-tenant platform to accommodate significant business growth and volume increases. Drive initiatives to reduce reverse supply chain costs and potentially transform it into a profitable business segment.
Utilize a broad range of AWS services, Java, object-oriented design principles, and advanced storage, workflow, orchestration, and UI technologies. Build and deliver sophisticated software systems designed to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving re-commerce landscape. Lead technical programs, manage cross-functional dependencies, and coordinate release schedules to ensure timely delivery of impactful features.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical program management is essential, complemented by at least 7 years of direct collaboration with engineering teams. Candidates should possess 3+ years of hands-on software development experience and 5+ years specifically in technical program management working alongside software engineering teams.
Proven ability to manage programs that span multiple cross-functional teams is required. This includes a track record of building effective processes and coordinating complex release schedules. Experience in building and evaluating system-level technical designs is also a key requirement for this role.
