Join our Security team dedicated to building and maintaining a secure environment for Google's users and developers. This role involves working with network equipment, actively monitoring systems for threats, and collaborating with software engineers to proactively address security vulnerabilities. You will be instrumental in fostering a culture where safety, security, and resilience are integral to every aspect of Google's operations.

The Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team ensures the safety and security of Google employees, manages critical incidents, and proactively anticipates and addresses risks. You will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and monitoring enterprise risks that impact business activities, providing essential information to business leaders for informed decision-making. Partnering with cross-functional teams, you will create innovative strategies and develop exceptional programs that enhance sustainable effectiveness.

This position is responsible for advancing initiatives that bolster Google's global capacity to anticipate, deter, detect, and respond to security risks. You will drive the delivery of physical security technology solutions within the GSRS organization, collaborating internally to prototype and develop solutions on accelerated timelines based on stakeholder requirements. Owning the end-to-end lifecycle of these solutions, your efforts will be crucial in ensuring the safety and security of Google and its employees across all global office locations.

Analyze operational processes and business needs to ensure alignment with the technology roadmap, new products, and existing offerings. Focus on accessibility, scalable growth, automation, and business outcomes that effectively mitigate key risks.

Deliver technology solutions according to strategic plans through tactical activities such as requirement gathering, developing user stories, lab testing, and creating project, rollout, and communication plans. Support the evaluation, integration, and implementation of third-party solutions.

Provide mentoring and guidance to junior colleagues, peers, and stakeholders as a subject matter expert in physical security, contributing to shared business goals and objectives.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions, actively gathering feedback and iterating to enhance user experience and outcomes.

Manage highly confidential information and diligently safeguard the company's intellectual property.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required. Candidates should possess at least five years of experience in security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling. Additionally, five years of experience in security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols is essential.

We are also looking for five years of experience in coding within one or more general-purpose programming languages. A minimum of one year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or conducting technical risk analysis within an enterprise environment is necessary.

Preferred qualifications include experience with Physical Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Case Management, Video Management, Physical Security Information Management (PSIM), IT Networking, Construction/Architecture, and no-code development platforms. Experience in technology delivery, design, and execution within Physical/Cyber Security industries, holding certifications like PSP, CPP, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco CCNA, is highly advantageous. The ability to align diverse teams (operational, engineering, product, UX), navigate competing priorities, clearly communicate complex ideas, and build strong stakeholder partnerships is vital. You should also demonstrate the capability to lead projects through informal authority, managing priorities, objectives, dependencies, planning, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, implementation, and monitoring.
