Join our dedicated Security team, committed to building and maintaining a secure environment for Google's users and developers. As a Security Engineer, you'll work with network infrastructure, actively monitor systems against threats, and collaborate with software engineers to proactively resolve security vulnerabilities.

This role is within Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team, focused on safeguarding Google employees, managing incidents, and anticipating potential disruptions. You will foster a culture where safety, security, and resilience are integral to all operations, from creative processes to risk management.

Your contribution will help identify, evaluate, and monitor enterprise risks, empowering leaders with critical information for decision-making. You'll drive innovative strategies and develop programs that ensure sustainable effectiveness. This position is key to enhancing Google's global capacity to anticipate, deter, detect, and act on security risks, specifically leading the delivery of physical security technology solutions within GSRS. You will partner internally to prototype and develop solutions on accelerated timelines, managing the end-to-end lifecycle of these solutions to ensure the safety and security of Google and its employees across all global locations.

Analyze operational processes and business requirements to ensure alignment with technology roadmap goals, focusing on accessibility, scalable growth, automation, and risk mitigation.

Deliver technology solutions through tactical execution, including requirement gathering, user story development, lab testing, and creating project, rollout, and communication plans. Support the evaluation, integration, and implementation of third-party solutions.

Provide mentorship and guidance as a subject matter expert in physical security to junior colleagues, peers, and stakeholders, contributing to shared business objectives.

Monitor and assess the effectiveness of deployed solutions, collecting feedback for continuous improvement of user experience and outcomes.

Manage highly confidential information and safeguard company intellectual property.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

Possess at least 7 years of experience in security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling. You should also have 5 years of experience in security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.

Furthermore, 5 years of experience in coding using general-purpose languages is necessary, along with 1 year of experience leading technical teams or conducting technical risk analysis in an enterprise setting.

Preferred qualifications include experience with physical access control, intrusion detection, case management, video management, PSIM, IT networking, construction/architecture, and no-code development platforms. Experience in technology delivery and design within Physical/Cyber Security industries, holding certifications like PSP, CPP, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco CCNA, is highly valued.

Demonstrated ability to align diverse teams (operational, engineering, product, UX), navigate competing priorities, articulate complex ideas clearly, and build strong stakeholder partnerships is essential. The capability to lead projects through planning, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, implementation, and monitoring, using informal authority, is also a key requirement.
