Conduct thorough technical assessments to define engineering scope, establish critical milestones, set realistic timeframes, and determine necessary resourcing. Possess technical judgment comparable to a practicing Software Engineer specializing in infrastructure.
Proactively identify, anticipate, and manage risks, key deliverables, and interdependencies across various Search Platforms and partner teams. Develop robust mechanisms to enhance governance and streamline information flow.
Drive continuous improvements in operational cadence, tooling, and communication strategies. Minimize process friction to foster development velocity and maintain high quality. Advocate for unified strategies across teams with diverse objectives. Guide and influence cross-functional colleagues, building consensus on technical directions and prioritizing features within defined constraints.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required. You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience leading technical program management initiatives and delivering complex infrastructure solutions.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of dedicated experience as a Technical Program Manager. Deep expertise in backend infrastructure, distributed systems, evaluation systems, or testing frameworks is highly valued. Experience with or a strong interest in modern AI/ML capabilities, Large Language Models (LLMs), and agentic workflows for TPM functions is beneficial. A proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment, manage distributed teams across time zones, and prioritize complex workstreams amidst ambiguity is essential.
