Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for its Global Networking team to oversee the planning, design, sourcing, and delivery of its worldwide network infrastructure. As a Technical Program Manager, you will utilize your technical acumen to lead multifaceted projects from inception to completion. You'll engage with stakeholders to define requirements, identify potential risks, manage project timelines, and ensure clear communication with cross-functional teams. Your comfort level will span from presenting team analyses to executives to discussing technical trade-offs with engineers.
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to define work problems, program objectives, and prioritized deliverables, assessing program impact.
Translate stakeholder needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables, contributing to strategic decisions with minimal supervision.
Ensure cost-effectiveness for Google's network infrastructure, aligning with build cost economics. Monitor key program metrics, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with relevant teams to drive impact and achieve shared objectives. Develop and enhance business, operational, and management dashboards.
Manage the approved network plan, coordinating with internal contributors and vendor delivery managers to ensure on-time infrastructure delivery.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in program management.
Have 2 years of experience in designing, constructing, or managing infrastructure projects.
Demonstrate experience in creating infrastructure designs (e.g., telecom, electrical, mechanical) and preparing drawing sets for data center networking space builds and remodels.
Preferred qualifications include experience in Network, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering fields, as well as expertise in data center, networking, or telecom operations. Familiarity with both Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) fiber optic infrastructure, including detailed knowledge of Dark Fiber, Network Infrastructure, ISP/OSP Network Architecture, Network Topology, and Field Deployment is beneficial. Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities, capable of articulating and defending insights from analysis, are also highly valued.
