Our Chips System Software team is seeking energetic and technologically savvy engineers to architect and develop boot firmware for flagship CPUs. These are critical components for high-compute platforms in automotive, datacenter, and other essential applications. We are looking for individuals with strong C and Python skills, a deep understanding of operating systems and kernel programming, good hardware architecture knowledge, and excellent communication and planning abilities.
As a member of the Tegra Core Firmware Team, you will be instrumental in building and developing the Manageability Software stack environment. Your strong communication skills will be applied to software development, driving ideas, and analyzing documents to ensure seamless technical communication internally and externally.
You will participate in embedded bare-metal development for Tegra chips, connecting these activities to server management protocols and standards. Close collaboration with hardware architecture teams is expected, identifying opportunities for architectural improvements and performance enhancements across generations. Developing partnerships with internal and external team members is key to our collaborative engineering culture.
We are seeking candidates with 5+ years of experience and a BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Essential qualifications include outstanding C and Python programming abilities, a strong drive for continuous process and tool improvement, and a proactive approach to leveraging AI tools for productivity.
A solid understanding of multicore hardware, operating systems build, concurrency, virtual memory, caching, interrupts, device drivers, and real-time programming is required. Extensive experience with Linux kernel software is mandatory. Excellent interpersonal skills are also crucial for success in this role.
