Seeking a skilled Systems Engineer 1 to manage and maintain critical SQL Server database environments. This role is pivotal in ensuring the health, performance, and availability of our production services.

The position involves daily administration, monitoring, and support of SQL Server databases, focusing on performance, capacity, backups, and security.

Key responsibilities include database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting. You will also provide essential support to application teams, managing deployments, access, and resolving incidents.

Administer and monitor Microsoft SQL Server database environments across development, test, production, and disaster-recovery platforms.

Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and decommission SQL Server instances and related components.

Create and maintain databases, schemas, tables, indexes, stored procedures, and other database objects.

Monitor database availability, performance, storage, replication, and backup status, proactively resolving issues.

Perform SQL query and database performance tuning, including indexing strategies and resource optimization.

Manage database backup, restore, retention, and recovery processes, regularly testing disaster-recovery plans.

Administer high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions such as clustering and Always On Availability Groups.

Manage database access and security, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

Troubleshoot a wide range of database incidents, including connectivity, authentication, data integrity, and performance issues.

Provide technical support to application, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams for database-related requests.

This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in SQL Database Administration.

Proficiency in SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades, is essential.

Experience with performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and disaster-recovery solutions is mandatory.

Knowledge of high-availability technologies like clustering and Always On Availability Groups is required.

Strong understanding of database security management and access provisioning is crucial.

Ability to troubleshoot complex database incidents and provide technical support to various teams is expected.

Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation is a requirement for this position.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are necessary.
