This position involves active participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation, providing support during nights, weekends, holidays, and scheduled maintenance. A key aspect of the role is maintaining accurate documentation and adhering strictly to security and change-management protocols for timely incident resolution.

Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments across various platforms, including development, test, production, and disaster recovery.

Key duties involve installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching SQL Server instances and related components. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining databases, schemas, and essential database objects.

Proactively monitor database availability, performance, storage, replication, backups, and job executions, resolving issues before they impact business operations. Optimize SQL queries and database performance through indexing strategies, blocking analysis, and resource management.

Manage backup, restore, and recovery processes, regularly testing restores and supporting disaster recovery exercises. Administer high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions like clustering and Always On Availability Groups.

Manage database access and security, provision accounts, apply least-privilege permissions, and support audits. Troubleshoot diverse database incidents, including connectivity, authentication, data integrity, and performance issues.

Provide technical support to application, infrastructure, and security teams for database-related requests. Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades with thorough testing and rollback plans.

Develop and maintain comprehensive operational documentation, standards, and knowledge-base articles. Enhance automation for routine administration tasks using approved scripting and tools.

Participate in root-cause analysis for major incidents, implementing corrective actions to boost reliability. Support infrastructure and application projects by contributing database design input and ensuring production readiness.

This role is ideal for individuals with 0 to 2+ years of experience in SQL database administration. Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is required.
