This role focuses on forging and managing strategic partnerships within the payments ecosystem to support Google's payment transaction processing. You will advocate for Google with business, industry, and regulatory leaders, optimizing payment processes for seamless user experiences, sustainability, compliance, and innovation in scalability and efficiency.
Manage the entire lifecycle of partnership development, from leading RFIs and RFPs to negotiating agreements. Represent Google in strategic dialogues with partners, networks, issuers, acquirers, and regulators to enhance processing capabilities, compliance, and market sustainability. Guide Google product teams on India-specific payment best practices, potential partners, and regulatory requirements. Identify and champion industry improvements across India's payments landscape, shaping partner strategies to align with Google's product roadmap and emerging trends. Cultivate strong internal partnerships across Google to develop a comprehensive and integrated partnership strategy.
Foster seamless user experiences and drive sustainability for compliance, innovation in scalability, and efficiency across the payments industry. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Finance and Legal, to achieve these objectives.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required. A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development and partnerships within India's payments industry is essential. You must have experience securing payment processing or ancillary service agreements through direct negotiations or engagements with processors, issuers, acquirers, networks, or regulators. Proven ability to work effectively with C-level executives and cross-functionally across multiple management levels is critical.
Excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced team environment under strict deadlines are expected. Preferred qualifications include extensive experience in developing and managing partnerships within the payments industry in India, a strong track record of securing complex agreements, and deep knowledge of Indian payment processing regulations, operating rules, and standard agreement terms. The ability to evaluate complex business and technical requirements, assess cross-functional impacts, and identify new opportunities swiftly and accurately, alongside exemplary communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels, is highly valued.
