As a Staff Software Engineer, you will spearhead high-impact projects, providing essential technical leadership. Your role involves influencing and mentoring a distributed team of engineers, fostering collaboration and driving project success.

You will be responsible for facilitating clear alignment across teams regarding project goals, desired outcomes, and timelines. This includes managing project priorities, ensuring deadlines are met, and overseeing the delivery of key milestones. The position requires designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and continuously enhancing large-scale software solutions that meet Google's stringent standards.

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 8 years of programming expertise in languages such as C++, Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go is essential.

Demonstrated experience over 5 years in testing and successfully launching software products is required. Additionally, 3 years of hands-on experience in software design and architecture is crucial for this role. Experience integrating generative AI tools or Large Language Model (LLM) interfaces into existing workflows is also a key requirement.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Significant experience, 8 years, with data structures and algorithms is highly valued. Furthermore, 3 years of experience in a technical leadership capacity, guiding project teams and setting technical direction, is beneficial. Experience navigating complex, matrixed organizations and managing cross-functional or cross-business projects for 3 years is also an advantage.
