This pivotal role is for a Staff Software Engineer - Frontend. You will tackle complex frontend challenges within our AI product development at scale. It's a hands-on leadership position where you'll address critical aspects like real-time systems, streaming data, performance optimization, and robust large-scale frontend architecture. Your contributions will also be instrumental in shaping our overall frontend engineering practices.

Take ownership of the frontend architecture for high-scale, complex applications. Solve intricate problems related to real-time interactions, streaming data, asynchronous workflows, and dynamic UI states. Develop resilient user experiences for AI-generated content, long-running tasks, and partial results. Design systems that maintain responsiveness and reliability even with substantial data volumes and extended operations. Collaborate closely with backend, product, and design teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Proactively identify architectural bottlenecks and implement sustainable long-term fixes. Enhance frontend performance across loading, rendering, network, memory, and bundle size. Build and promote reusable frontend infrastructure, components, and patterns. Improve system observability through metrics, logging, and monitoring. Manage and resolve complex production issues, ensuring recurrence prevention. Define best practices for testing, releases, feature flags, CI/CD, and frontend reliability. Lead architectural discussions and technical decision-making across multiple teams. Mentor engineers and elevate the collective frontend engineering expertise. Drive ambiguous projects from initial concept through design and implementation to production deployment.

A minimum of 8 years in software engineering, with significant hands-on frontend expertise, is essential. Deep proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js is required. A strong grasp of frontend architecture, browser fundamentals, networking, rendering, and the broader web platform is crucial. Experience in designing and scaling large-scale production frontend applications is necessary. A solid understanding of state management, APIs, caching strategies, authentication mechanisms, and asynchronous systems is expected. Familiarity with building real-time or streaming experiences using technologies like WebSockets or SSE is important. Demonstrable expertise in web performance optimization and solving real-world production performance issues is key. Experience with frontend observability and debugging production-level challenges is required. Proven ability in building shared components, design systems, or frontend platforms is beneficial. Strong system design capabilities and the skill to make pragmatic architectural trade-offs are necessary. The ability to influence technical decisions across teams without formal authority is highly valued. A strong sense of ownership and a proactive approach to root-cause problem-solving are essential. Understanding of video and audio fundamentals, including media processing, encoding/decoding, streaming, and synchronization, is advantageous. Experience building frontend solutions for video/audio processing or dubbing workflows is highly desirable. Familiarity with document digitization workflows, encompassing upload, processing states, previews, extraction, and editing, is beneficial. Experience developing frontend applications handling large files, extended processing, and progress tracking is a plus.
