Join Google's Enterprise Product Strategy and Architecture (EPA) team as a Staff Software Engineer, focusing on Core Enterprise Product Architecture. Drive detailed technical assessments of intricate project designs, system architectures, and integrations across Corporate Engineering to ensure adherence to established architectural standards, design patterns, and strategic blueprints.

Contribute significantly to Enterprise Architecture Board (EAB) decisions, supporting the review process for key annual planning initiatives and off-cycle requests throughout the year.

Serve as a trusted technical advisor to engineering teams and domain leads, translating architectural blueprints into actionable system designs and proactively identifying potential architectural gaps and integration risks.

Champion the EA Toolkit, approved APIs, reusable design patterns, and standard technologies to boost developer velocity, positioning architecture as an enabler rather than a constraint.

Evaluate proposed solutions for scalability, performance, security, high availability, and adherence to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required. You should have a minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, including 5 years focused on testing and launching software products.

Proficiency in software development using one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, Go, JavaScript, C#, Objective-C, or Swift is essential. Experience designing and implementing distributed systems and APIs is also a key requirement.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Four years of technical management or leadership experience guiding software developers, systems administrators, or systems architects is highly desirable. Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to align distributed engineering leads on shared architectural standards, are valued. Expertise in SRE, designing for high performance and high availability, and building solutions within modern cloud environments is beneficial. A strong background in developing, deploying, and troubleshooting full-stack applications handling vast amounts of data is also preferred.
