Join Rippling's innovative Data Catalog team, the semantic intelligence layer powering our platform. We are dedicated to making Rippling's extensive data schema discoverable, trustworthy, and actionable for both users and AI. As the authoritative source for metadata, we bridge the gap between platform infrastructure and cutting-edge AI, driving key product features and serving as the data backbone for our AI initiatives.
Our team builds solutions across four core areas: enhancing data discoverability through intuitive browsing and search, enriching data with AI-generated context and business meaning, implementing robust data governance with PII classification and compliance tagging, and managing the data lifecycle with dependency tracking and lineage visualization to ensure accuracy as our data model evolves.
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Data Catalog team, you will be instrumental in shaping our technical future. You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of internet-scale, highly distributed systems and scalable services. This role involves prototyping with the latest AI tools to conceptualize primitives for democratizing development across Rippling.
You will tackle challenges related to our growing scale and load, optimizing for efficiency. You will own the technology stack, working deeply with infrastructure to manage complex distributed systems that are critical to every Rippling product. Furthermore, you will operate as a Tech Lead, collaborating directly with other Platform Tech Leads and Engineering Managers to guide the evolution of the Data Catalog's core infrastructure.
We are seeking experienced software engineers with a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, architectural principles, and design patterns. A proven ability to build large-scale applications, APIs, and developer tools is essential.
Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills are required, enabling you to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. You should thrive in a product-centric environment and be driven by a passion for enhancing the customer experience. A minimum of 8 years of software development experience, ideally within dynamic and fast-paced settings, is expected.
