This role focuses on the client application layer for Sarvam's consumer and enterprise products. You will be instrumental in architecting and developing native applications across mobile and desktop platforms, unified by Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP). The goal is to deliver fast, reliable, and native experiences on a diverse range of devices and network conditions prevalent across India.

You will architect and own the end-to-end client application layer for Sarvam's suite of products, utilizing Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) to share logic across Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, and macOS. Your responsibilities include shipping and evolving native applications, leading the KMP adoption strategy, and building shared modules for networking, persistence, and audio processing.

You will focus on performance and reliability, ensuring apps function optimally on low-end devices and intermittent networks. Integrating Sarvam's AI model APIs, driving engineering standards for the client team with a focus on CI/CD and testing, and mentoring engineers on platform-native depth and KMP best practices are also key aspects of this role. You'll collaborate closely with backend, model serving, and product teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.

We are seeking an experienced Staff Engineer with 9+ years of experience in building production-grade mobile and/or desktop applications. A deep expertise in Kotlin, including coroutines and flows, is essential, along with comfort in Swift and at least one desktop platform.

Hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), including designing shared modules and managing expect/actual boundaries, is crucial. You should possess strong command of native audio and streaming pipelines, and experience shipping apps that perform well in constrained environments (offline-first, low-bandwidth, low-RAM). Solid networking and API integration instincts, familiarity with CI/CD and automated testing across multiple platforms, and strong senior IC judgment are expected.
