Job description

Amazon's Operations Infrastructure Services (OIS) team is seeking a Sr. Tech Infra Program Manager for its NANO initiative. This role is pivotal in transforming the technology infrastructure backbone for Amazon's fulfillment sites globally, specifically for the rapidly expanding Quick Commerce business.

Quick Commerce requires a novel approach to infrastructure: lean, vendor-managed, and rapidly deployable while maintaining enterprise-grade availability. As the sole owner of infrastructure for an entire country, you will architect the network and device strategy to support hundreds of site launches efficiently and cost-effectively. This includes owning the country-level technology roadmap, managing vendor relationships, ensuring availability and financial performance, and collaborating closely with senior business operations leaders.

Team NANO (Network and Assets for Nimble Operations) is at the forefront of shaping the technology backbone for Quick Commerce, Amazon's fastest-growing business vector.

Responsibilities

The NANO TIPM will lead the country's infrastructure strategy, setting architecture standards and readiness criteria for all site launches. For network infrastructure, this involves end-to-end management from vendor selection to SLA governance and financial outcomes. For associate-facing equipment like scanners and workstations, the TIPM will identify and recommend devices, partnering with Device Tech for certification.

The role is structured around four key themes:

- Strategy, Vendor Management, and Contract Governance: Develop the country's network technology roadmap, manage the entire vendor selection process, and identify end-user devices that meet regional cost and performance targets. - Site Launch and Network Deployment: Create playbooks, architecture standards, and deployment plans for the country, stepping in to make critical decisions at escalation points. - Operations Excellence, Governance, and Financial Accountability: Oversee network availability, device fleet health, and financial performance, using structured governance to drive vendor performance. - Partnership with Business Operations Leadership: Translate business growth priorities into infrastructure strategy, providing performance insights, capacity assessments, and cost-tradeoff analyses to inform regional decisions.

Qualifications

We are looking for a seasoned Program Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience in program management or technical project management. Essential skills include strong written and verbal communication abilities to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.

A solid understanding of IT infrastructure domains is required, encompassing compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, technologies, and architectures, along with IT service delivery principles and best practices.

Proven experience in managing conflict, escalations, negotiating compromises, influencing teams, and problem-solving with engineering groups is crucial. Experience participating in continuous improvement initiatives to scale and enhance controllership, or communicating measurable results to senior leadership, is also valued. The ability to manage large-scale projects from inception to completion is a must.
