Amazon is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the technical vision for Amazon Now, India's rapidly expanding Quick Commerce offering. This role is pivotal in building world-class technology that powers efficient store operations, curated product selections, and seamless delivery of everyday essentials within minutes. You will be instrumental in shaping the architecture and engineering direction, with a significant focus on the Selection experience – how we curate, manage, and scale the optimal product assortment for customers across India. Your technical decisions will directly influence Amazon Now's growth and success.

As a senior technical leader, you will own the technical strategy and architecture for the Selection domain, focusing on city-specific assortments, per-store catalog management, and streamlining the onboarding of new items. You will provide comprehensive technical oversight across all team initiatives, including store launches, inventory, picking, staging, and store operations, ensuring seamless architectural integration. Key responsibilities include architecting scalable systems for rapid store onboarding, leading complex design decisions, mentoring engineers, and fostering adoption of best practices. You will collaborate closely with product, operations, and business teams to translate intricate business challenges into robust technical solutions, championing operational excellence and maintaining high-quality standards for all deliverables.

The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships, alongside at least 5 years of programming proficiency in a software language. Crucially, you should have 5+ years of experience leading the design and architecture of new and existing systems, including patterns, reliability, and scaling. Experience as a mentor or technical lead, guiding engineering teams, is essential. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
