Job description

Join GE Healthcare as a Senior Software Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and performance of our deployed healthcare products. This position involves deep dives into complex technical challenges, identifying root causes, and implementing robust solutions. You'll leverage your expertise in healthcare standards, product workflows, and advanced troubleshooting techniques to support our customers and regional teams, restoring service and preventing future issues.

GE Healthcare is a global leader in medical technology and digital solutions, dedicated to improving lives. We foster an environment where innovation thrives, and every team member's contribution is valued in building a healthier world.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for managing intricate investigations of installed products from initial assessment through to resolution and follow-up. This includes diagnosing and troubleshooting product, software, integration, and deployment issues using logs, metrics, and diagnostic tools.

You will apply your comprehensive understanding of healthcare interoperability standards and workflows like DICOM, PACS, HL7, and IHE. Collaboration is key; you'll work closely with customers, L2/L3 teams, Field Service, Product Management, and Engineering. Identifying recurring field issues and proposing enhancements to code, configuration, or processes will be a core part of your role. You'll also contribute code fixes, automation scripts, and develop troubleshooting tools, while creating and maintaining essential technical documentation and knowledge base content. Sharing your technical insights and product knowledge across teams is also expected.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field and a minimum of 8 years of professional experience. A strong foundation in at least one programming language such as Java, C, C++, or C# is essential, along with at least 3 years of experience in one of these. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, SQL, or Bash, and familiarity with automation tools are required.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) is expected. You must possess a solid understanding of healthcare interoperability standards and workflows, including DICOM, PACS, IHE, and HL7. While not mandatory, experience in leading install-base products and teams is advantageous.

Exposure to Agile methodologies, along with exceptional debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills, is crucial. The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining high service quality is also a key requirement. Strong oral and written communication, along with interpersonal and leadership skills, are highly valued.
