Shape the technical future of Amazon's last-mile delivery network by leading platforms that support Delivery Service Partners (DSPs). This role involves architecting and guiding the technical direction for systems crucial to the entire driver journey, from onboarding and qualification to essential communication and recognition tools.

Take ownership of the architecture and technical strategy across multiple engineering teams. You'll spearhead large, cross-team projects from inception through production, design robust, scalable distributed systems, and ensure operational excellence within a global, regulated environment spanning over 20 countries. Collaboration is key, and you'll work with teams across Amazon to deliver optimal customer solutions.

This position offers significant ownership, blending hands-on engineering with strategic leadership. You'll mentor fellow engineers and influence the roadmaps of partner teams. The scope covers technical leadership for multiple teams and production services, utilizing technologies such as Java, TypeScript, React, and AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS, API Gateway, SNS/SQS, and CDK.

Drive the technical strategy and multi-year architecture across various teams and platforms, creating design documents and technical visions. Lead complex, cross-team projects from concept to deployment, breaking them down into manageable milestones. Develop secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems with strong authentication, authorization, and data handling. Translate international regulatory requirements into adaptable, global solutions, collaborating closely with product, compliance, and legal departments. Champion operational excellence through advanced monitoring, root-cause analysis, deployment best practices, and continuous improvement of availability, latency, and cost. Mentor engineers, participate in hiring, and elevate engineering standards through rigorous code and design reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships. Extensive experience, 5+ years, in programming with at least one software language. Over 5 years of experience in designing and architecting new and existing systems, including patterns, reliability, and scaling. Proven experience as a mentor, tech lead, or in leading an engineering team. Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations, is highly desirable.
