As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will take ownership of critical platform services powering Amazon Ads' data infrastructure. You'll consolidate legacy systems into modern, API-first services, drastically reducing job creation time. Develop and deploy MCP-enabled AI interfaces, enabling AI agents to manage data pipelines seamlessly. Design and operate high-scale Java services on AWS, processing petabytes of data daily with exceptional availability.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements, coding and deploying micro-services, ensuring code quality and maintainability, and participating in operational duties. Innovate on AWS technologies to enhance performance, reduce costs, and optimize operations.

We are seeking experienced engineers with a strong background in software development and system architecture. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in non-internship software development is required. This includes 5+ years of programming expertise in at least one software language and 5+ years in leading the design or architecture of scalable and reliable systems. Experience in mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or managing engineering teams is also essential.

Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
