As a Software Developer specializing in APIs and Spring Boot, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance software. Your work will directly impact critical business capabilities for a major financial institution.

You'll be more than just a coder; you'll actively participate in the full software development lifecycle. This includes backlog refinement, solution architecture, technical discussions, estimation, and sprint planning, helping to bring concepts from inception to production.

Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade microservices using modern Java and Spring Boot. Build secure, resilient RESTful APIs and backend integrations for critical business functions. Contribute actively to solution design, estimation, sprint planning, and code reviews. Develop event-driven solutions and asynchronous integrations, potentially using technologies like Kafka. Integrate services with relational databases using frameworks such as Spring Data JPA. Create comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality and coverage. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, conducting root-cause analysis. Automate CI/CD pipelines, implement quality gates, and contribute to operational readiness. Produce clear technical documentation, API specifications, and support materials. Share knowledge, mentor junior engineers, and champion clean code and modern engineering practices.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required. 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with extensive hands-on background in enterprise Java application development and support. Strong proficiency in modern Java, ideally Java 17 or Java 21. Deep experience designing and developing microservices with Spring Boot and its related ecosystem. Practical experience with Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Spring REST. Proven ability to design and build robust RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and integrations. Experience developing event-driven solutions, including familiarity with Kafka or similar platforms. Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and maintainable architecture. Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning. Experience in developing automated tests using frameworks like JUnit and Mockito. Familiarity with build tools (Maven/Gradle), Git, CI/CD pipelines, and API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI). Working knowledge of secure coding practices and code quality scanning tools. Experience troubleshooting complex application issues and performing root-cause analysis. Proven ability to work effectively within an Agile/Scrum framework. Excellent communication skills for collaboration across global, distributed teams. Demonstrated ownership, problem-solving skills, and ability to execute independently.
