You will blend an enterprise architecture perspective and comprehensive cloud knowledge with practical expertise in Apps and AI. The focus is on understanding how complete solutions are constructed and knowing when to bring in specialized expertise, rather than being an expert in every single Azure service.

This position offers significant autonomy and influence within client organizations. You will lead the technical strategy for intricate projects, facilitate alignment among teams when priorities are ambiguous, and take ownership of achieving defined technical objectives. Your work will span from high-level executive discussions to detailed technical demonstrations, constructively challenging existing assumptions and drawing upon the collective strength of account teams, specialists, and partners.

Drive proactive customer engagement to uncover unmet needs within Azure and generate new technical opportunities that deliver substantial business value. Lead complex engagements independently, spanning diverse technologies, teams, and client locations. Align stakeholders, navigate competing priorities, and steer technical decisions through comprehensive discovery, workshops, and impactful demonstrations.

Empower clients to modernize their applications using Azure and cloud-native methodologies, carefully balancing current investments with future strategic requirements. Champion modern software development practices and enhance developer productivity, incorporating tools like GitHub and GitHub Copilot to accelerate innovation cycles.

Develop intelligent applications and agent-based solutions leveraging Microsoft Foundry, Copilot technologies, and enterprise data, including Microsoft Fabric where applicable. Create targeted prototypes and demonstrations to validate client concepts, showcase value, and guide the secure and responsible adoption of AI.

Adopt an end-to-end perspective across Azure infrastructure, networking, identity, security, data, applications, and AI, encompassing hybrid environments. Tailor and extend architectural patterns to meet intricate customer needs. Provide clear recommendations on trade-offs concerning business value, security, reliability, and cost, developing practical roadmaps rather than isolated product designs. Collaborate with specialists, customer success teams, and partners to guide clients from initial architecture to successful adoption.

Cultivate trusted relationships with stakeholders ranging from developers and architects to Heads of Development and VPs. Actively listen, constructively challenge, and build consensus among both technical and business stakeholders. Deeply understand customer priorities, programs, and decision-makers, aligning technical engagements with their broader business and transformation strategies.

Apply commercial acumen and business judgment to connect technical decisions directly to customer outcomes and Microsoft's unique value proposition, building a compelling case for investment. Qualify technical opportunities based on clear customer needs and demonstrable business value, establishing meaningful next steps. Partner with account teams to shape winning strategies for opportunities, utilizing customer and competitive insights to guide investment and overcome technical hurdles.

Foster collaboration across teams and mentor technical colleagues and account teams. Document reusable architectures and approaches derived from client engagements, and facilitate their adoption by others to enhance outcomes beyond individual projects. Maintain a commitment to continuous learning, staying current with relevant skills and certifications, and upholding principles of inclusion, integrity, and customer focus.

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, coupled with at least 4 years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years in technical pre-sales or consulting; OR a minimum of 7 years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrate proven experience in technical sales and delivery, successfully leading complex, multi-technology opportunities from initial discovery through practical validation. Showcase sound architectural decision-making in ambiguous requirement scenarios and the ability to influence beyond your immediate responsibilities. Possess a strong grasp of Azure, enterprise architecture principles, and the integrated functioning of infrastructure, security, data, applications, and AI.

Exhibit hands-on capability in application development and AI, including proficiency in building prototypes and effectively communicating technical concepts to clients. Experience with modern software development practices and developer productivity tools, utilizing either Microsoft technologies or comparable platforms is essential. Strong skills in stakeholder management, communication, and commercial judgment are required, enabling independent work across practitioner to executive levels and navigation of ambiguity across organizational boundaries.

Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or equivalent experience. 6+ years of experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management is beneficial. Experience with enterprise modernization, AI solutions, or engagements with multinational customers, including familiarity with Azure, Microsoft Foundry, Microsoft Fabric, or GitHub, is highly desirable. Relevant certifications in cloud, AI, development, architecture, or security are also preferred.
