Lead and grow YouTube's live streaming initiatives on living room surfaces as a Software Engineering Manager. This role involves modernizing and expanding live streaming experiences across video consumption journeys and interactive features. You'll guide a team of seasoned engineers, contributing to product strategy and fostering innovation.

Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, cultivating a strong culture of engineering excellence and innovation. Provide crucial technical leadership, defining roadmaps and driving initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional partners. Develop the creator platform and support an ecosystem for third-party partners and live streamers. Collaborate closely with leaders across YouTube to craft compelling user experiences for live streaming on TV and other living room devices, working with various teams to deliver innovative features.

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is essential, alongside 8 years of software development expertise in languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript. You should also bring 3 years of experience in a technical leadership capacity, managing projects, and 3 years in people management or team leadership.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, 5 years of experience within a complex organizational structure, and proficiency in full-stack, client-side, and front-end engineering.
