As a Software Engineering Manager on the Payments Platform team, you will combine technical expertise with leadership to guide major projects and manage a team of talented engineers. Lead and nurture a team of Software Engineers, focusing on talent development, growth opportunities, and fostering a positive team culture. Apply Staff-level technical judgment to guide system architecture and design, ensuring swift, risk-managed decisions that empower engineers.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Product, Program, Payments Compliance, and Export Legal to develop new features, create multi-year roadmaps, and enhance the quality of existing solutions. Manage the Sanctions platform infrastructure, prioritizing robustness, scalability, and reliability while proactively addressing technical debt. Partner with Product Management to interpret legal and compliance requirements for sanctions screening, and propose innovative, scalable solutions.

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, along with a minimum of 8 years in software development using languages like Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript. A strong background includes 3 years of experience in technical leadership and 2 years in people management or team leadership.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's or PhD in Engineering or Computer Science. Experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable external-facing products and services is highly valued. Familiarity with large-scale backend server infrastructure and a proven ability to demonstrate Staff-level technical judgment for complex backend systems are essential. A background in the compliance domain and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are also advantageous.
