As a manager, you will drive project goals, influence product strategy, and foster the development of your team. Our engineers work across diverse fields, including artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and large-scale system design, contributing to Google's most impactful products. Operating at scale and speed, you will guide innovation and lead the way.

Define and communicate team priorities, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives. Streamline strategy, processes, and decision-making across multiple teams.

Establish clear performance expectations for individuals, tailored to their roles and aligned with organizational goals. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to provide feedback, coaching, and discuss career development.

Develop and evolve mid-term technical roadmaps for your teams, anticipating future requirements and infrastructure needs.

Guide and vet system designs, and develop code to address complex, ambiguous problems.

Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure adherence to best practices in coding style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required, alongside a minimum of 8 years in software development. Essential experience includes 3 years in a technical leadership capacity and 2 years in people or team management.

Demonstrated experience integrating generative AI tools or Large Language Model (LLM) interfaces into various workflows is crucial for this role.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, along with 3 years of experience within a complex, matrixed organizational structure.
