Oversee the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases across diverse environments. Design, implement, and support highly available, scalable, and secure database solutions on Microsoft Azure. Manage database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, and performance tuning. Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex PostgreSQL SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Implement comprehensive backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to streamline deployments. Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting languages. Ensure database security through access controls and encryption. Develop and maintain operational runbooks and best practices. Support cloud migration initiatives and participate in on-call support for critical incidents.
We are seeking a seasoned professional with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, complemented by over 5 years of dedicated Database Administration experience with a strong focus on PostgreSQL.
Proven hands-on experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL and other Azure cloud services is essential. You should possess a solid understanding of database migration, upgrade processes, and implementing robust backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions. Familiarity with Linux/Windows server administration and database security best practices, including user management and encryption, is required. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication abilities, are crucial for success in this role.
