Join Optum, a global leader in health optimization, and contribute to improving health outcomes for millions. We leverage technology to connect individuals with the care, resources, and pharmacy benefits they need. Our inclusive culture fosters collaboration with talented peers, offers comprehensive benefits, and provides ample career development opportunities. Be part of a team dedicated to advancing health on a global scale, embodying our core values of Caring, Connecting, and Growing together.
Key responsibilities include meticulously monitoring application and infrastructure health using Dynatrace, Splunk, and Zabbix. You will be instrumental in responding to critical Priority 1 (P1) alerts, performing initial-level debugging, and escalating issues to ensure minimal system downtime. This involves leading incident management, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) for P1 incidents, and coordinating effectively with various technical teams. Additionally, you will communicate incident status updates to stakeholders, maintain detailed shift handover notes, and contribute to improving monitoring setups by documenting recurring issues. Your role will also involve troubleshooting application startup failures, deployment issues, and investigating REST API and connection problems, alongside analyzing slow transactions using Dynatrace PurePath tracing.
We require hands-on expertise with Dynatrace (dashboards, PurePath tracing, Smartscape, Davis AI) and working knowledge of Splunk for log analysis and alerting. Familiarity with Zabbix for host monitoring and alert management is essential. You must have experience handling P1/P2 incidents, including triage, escalation, and resolution, with proficiency in ServiceNow or Jira for ticket management. A solid understanding of ITIL fundamentals and the ability to independently follow runbooks and SOPs are crucial. Demonstrated ability to correlate data across multiple tools for failure isolation, basic knowledge of application performance monitoring (APM) concepts, and comfort with the Linux command line for server-level debugging are also expected. Experience troubleshooting Java applications built with Spring Boot and Microservices, and analyzing Java exception logs and stack traces, is vital.
