Join Google's innovative team and shape the future of how billions connect and explore. We develop cutting-edge technologies that handle information at a massive scale, pushing the boundaries of search, distributed computing, AI, and more.
As a Software Engineer, you'll tackle critical projects, with the flexibility to move between teams and evolving business needs. We seek versatile individuals with leadership potential, eager to embrace new challenges across the full technology stack and drive technological advancements.
As a vital member of a dynamic team, you will design, test, deploy, and maintain robust software solutions. Focus on developing and delivering product features and components within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) hybrid connectivity products, driving projects from conception to launch with minimal supervision.
Implement highly scalable, reliable, and secure distributed systems for hybrid cloud networking. Make informed technical judgments in complex situations and proactively identify areas for system enhancement or new tool development.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional Engineering teams, including Product Management, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and other GCP Networking teams. Contribute to key technical decisions at the team level and engage in broader engineering community activities like interviewing and knowledge sharing.
Maintain the production health, monitoring, and on-call support for hybrid connectivity services. Lead initiatives to boost system reliability, observability, and supportability, potentially using AI/ML for advanced operational insights.
Candidates should hold a PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field. Essential experience includes software development, with a strong emphasis on large-scale distributed systems, AI/ML, networking, data storage, or security.
Demonstrate experience in designing and developing distributed systems, encompassing concepts like concurrency, multi-threading, or synchronization. Proficiency in algorithms, complexity analysis, and system design is required. Candidates must possess coding skills in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Python, Java, or Golang.
