Drive the design, development, and launch of product features within Google Cloud Platform's hybrid connectivity offerings. Architect and implement highly scalable, reliable, and secure distributed systems for hybrid cloud environments, making critical technical decisions and identifying system improvement opportunities.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, SRE, and other GCP Networking teams. Participate in team-level technical decisions and contribute to the broader engineering community through interviews and knowledge sharing.
Ensure the operational health, monitoring, and on-call support for hybrid connectivity services. Lead initiatives to enhance system reliability and observability, potentially using AI/ML for advanced operational insights.
A PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required, alongside proven experience in software development. Focus areas include large-scale distributed systems, AI/ML, networking, data storage, or security.
Demonstrated experience in architecting and developing distributed systems, with a strong understanding of concurrency, multi-threading, or synchronization is essential. Proficiency in algorithms, complexity analysis, and system design is expected.
Candidates must possess coding experience in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Python, Java, or Golang. Preferred qualifications include extensive experience architecting large-scale distributed systems and strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
