This role involves defining and advancing technical objectives for next-generation distributed systems. You will architect, build, and implement highly scalable, reliable, and efficient large-scale distributed systems. Leveraging specialized research expertise, you'll contribute to the design, analysis, and development of complex systems across the entire technology stack. Your role will also include investigating and resolving technical issues by identifying root causes and their impact, alongside writing and reviewing code to uphold best practices in style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.

This role is ideal for individuals holding a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Essential experience includes software development, with a strong emphasis on large-scale distributed systems, AI/ML, networking, data storage, or security. A solid background in the architecture and development of distributed systems, including expertise in concurrency, multi-threading, and synchronization, is required. Proficiency in algorithms, complexity analysis, and system design is fundamental. Candidates must demonstrate coding ability in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Python, Java, or Golang. Preferred qualifications include experience in areas like algorithms, architecture, artificial intelligence, compilers, databases, data mining, distributed systems, machine learning, networking, or general systems. Expertise in designing and implementing complex systems for production or experimental use, alongside proficiency in performance analysis or system data analysis, is highly advantageous. A proven track record of publishing in prestigious peer-reviewed conferences or journals (e.g., ACL, KDD, SOSP, Nature) is valued.
