We are seeking a talented Software Engineer specializing in Java and Spring Boot to join our Payments Network Technology team. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available payment network solutions. You will leverage modern technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and embrace event-driven architecture and cloud-native engineering practices.

As a Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in the full software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing, deployment, and ongoing support of software services. Your key responsibilities include building robust Java and Spring Boot microservices, designing REST APIs, and developing Kafka-based event-driven integrations.

You will apply object-oriented design principles, SOLID best practices, and secure coding standards. Creating comprehensive unit, component, integration, and regression tests is essential, as is actively participating in peer reviews. You will also be involved in troubleshooting application, data, messaging, and performance issues, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines, observability, operational readiness, and automation efforts. Collaboration with product, architecture, testing, operations, and other engineering teams is crucial, alongside mentoring junior team members and independently managing complex tasks.

We are looking for candidates with strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot development. Essential skills include proficiency with microservices, REST APIs, messaging platforms like Kafka, and event-driven architecture. A solid understanding of SQL or NoSQL databases, Git, automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native platforms is required.

Candidates should possess a good understanding of designing secure, scalable, and resilient software. A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is expected. Experience in Agile environments and across the software development lifecycle is vital, along with excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

We require hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude CLI to enhance engineering efficiency. While not mandatory, knowledge of the payments or financial services domain is highly preferred.
