Join our Open Finance Europe – Connectivity team as a Software Engineer II, where you will be instrumental in constructing and maintaining robust API integrations with financial institutions throughout Europe.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building, testing, and supporting secure, high-performance backend services. You will play a key part in developing scalable solutions, collaborating with seasoned engineers on system architecture and implementation, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional software for production environments.
Key responsibilities include developing, testing, and supporting scalable APIs and backend services. You will contribute to designing and implementing reliable, maintainable software solutions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality code throughout the development lifecycle. Troubleshooting and resolving application and production issues under senior guidance is crucial.
Participation in code reviews and adherence to established engineering best practices are expected. You will implement and maintain various levels of tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end. Collaboration with cross-functional teams like Product, Architecture, Security, and SRE is vital. Efforts to enhance observability, automation, and operational efficiency across services will be supported, alongside a continuous commitment to learning new technologies and engineering practices.
We are seeking candidates with 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience, specifically in developing backend applications and APIs using modern programming frameworks. Familiarity with cloud platforms and distributed systems is essential, along with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and secure coding principles.
Applicants should possess the ability to analyze and resolve technical challenges, seeking guidance from senior engineers when necessary. Proven experience in delivering software components and features within a collaborative team setting is required. Strong communication and teamwork skills are paramount, coupled with a dedication to continuous learning and engineering excellence. Experience in payments, banking, or Open Banking (PSD2), exposure to microservices architectures, and familiarity with monitoring and observability tools are considered advantageous.
