This role focuses on providing robust application software support through expert programming, analysis, design, development, and delivery of effective software solutions. You will also be instrumental in researching and proposing alternative technical approaches to meet evolving business requirements.
Take ownership of programming, testing, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support of systems application software, adhering to MasterCard's rigorous standards and best practices. Develop high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions precisely matching technical specifications and design artifacts within stipulated timelines and budgets. Proactively research, create, and evaluate technical solution alternatives, considering both current and upcoming technologies and frameworks to address business needs. Conduct feasibility studies, develop logic designs, create detailed systems flowcharts, analyze input-output flows, and perform cost-benefit analyses. Collaborate closely with the project team to meet scheduled deadlines, proactively identify emerging issues, and recommend effective solutions. Independently manage assigned tasks, handle production incident management, and participate in the on-call pager support rotation. Document software programs meticulously following Software Development Best Practices and MasterCard's Quality Assurance and Control processes. Assist senior team members in refining documentation templates to align with project and technology requirements. Contribute innovative ideas to ensure adherence to required standards and processes, actively seeking opportunities to enhance them and improve overall process efficiency. Support the collection and reporting of essential project and software metrics.
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience is required. Possess thorough knowledge and a deep understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies. Demonstrate proficiency in MasterCard's Core Competencies. Accumulate 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in the software engineering field. Exhibit high energy, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure in an independent setting. Demonstrate a high degree of initiative and self-motivation, coupled with a strong willingness and ability to learn and embrace challenging opportunities. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, complemented by excellent relationship-building, collaborative, and organizational abilities. Be capable of functioning effectively as a valued member of a matrix-based, diverse, and geographically distributed project team.
